About Northern Rivers Orthotics

Northern Rivers Orthotics offers comprehensive orthotic management by Andrew Clarke. Located in Mullumbimby, Andrew brings 27 years of industry experience and the ability to offer a service of complete in-house management. Centrally located in the northern rivers, home and hospital visits are available together with local assessments and fittings with full workshop for immediate modifications.

Andrew continues as director Melbourne Orthotics which offers administrative support to the Northern Rivers location.

Our focus is on foot and ankle encompassing diabetic foot pathologies, arthritis and alternatives to surgery. We also specialise in footwear modifications to ensure your comfort and mobility. Our approach to treatment has been born from working closely with foot and ankle surgeons and being involved with non operative approach treatments of all conditions.

Our Services

Foot Orthotics

Foot orthotics are provided from an impression of the foot. Impression can be captured from a scan or a plaster impression. The orthotics provided are usually softer, accommodative and full length. Designed with great attention to detail to achieve the perfect balance of comfort and corrective support. Andrew fabricates his own orthotics, to ensure every design meets the highest standard.

Custom Bracing

Also providing off the shelf bracing solutions, our specialist skills mean we can take a plaster cast impression and fabricate all types of orthotic appliances. From maintenance and repairs of existing orthoses, to new referrals, all work is assessed, prescribed, fabricated and fitted as part of an in-house service undertaken by Andrew.

Footwear modifications

Essential for good orthotic management, are the shoes and footwear to match. We also are able to modify footwear for the most complex pathologies. From carbon fibre sole stiffening, widening, and patches through to near full custom made for significant deformities and diabetic pathologies.

Fracture Managment

Andrew has a strong grounding in fracture management after working in the Alfred hospital fracture clinic. Accute fracture management encompassing low temp plastic bracing, fibreglass and plaster casting.

Camwalkers, postoperative fracture management and provision of bracing to support and prevent stress fractures.
